Little girls need to know,

If to them, truth’s been told.

Freedom from lies is but a small task

Embarked upon by trusting en masse’.

 

Often times the promise is made

Forever they will try to wait

 

Believing in the lies that daddy tells,

Realizing deceit is an empty shell.

Over and over again, they trust

Knowing this time that he really must

Excel above all to make it right

Not be hurt by one they won’t fight.

 

Promises are NOT made to be broken

Reverberating off walls as spoken,

Only kept in unconditional love

Meanings clearly seen below and above.

Integrity and honor present and real

Securely given and never concealed

Effortlessly the truth will prevail

Seeking promises to succeed not fail.
