Morgaine Le Fey

Morgain Le Fey, though some thought of her as an evil sorceress

Only followed her destiny as keeper of the ways of the Goddess

Raising respect in man's hearts and keeping the ways of old

Gaining little and sacrificing much as her story is told

Anchored to Camelot through Arthur Pendragon, High King

Igraine her mother who gave birth to whom the people would sing

Never realizing that she was to become the Lady of the Lake on wings

Leaving the mundane world behind as she disappeared into the mists

Enfolding the isle of Avalon; baby brother Arthur, a good king tarnished

Forever by the minstrels of Gladdenberry priests and monks of ministry

Enough to darken his name but she took the blame in stride intimately

Yearning for what could have been, had she not seen through the guise.
