Thought for the Day/Week/Month

If we are dissatisfied with our lives, we are the only ones who can change it.  We do so by first; identifying the ‘roles’ we fulfill in our life.  We are all employees, neighbors, siblings, parents, tenants, etc.  Life is about relationships.  Once we identify the ‘roles’; we can identify the expectations of those ‘roles’ and relationships.  This helps us set goals for balance in every aspect of our life.

It takes two weeks or ten days to develop a habit from an action we participate in.  Following are the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People:

  1.  Plan and Prepare – Be Proactive

  2.  Begin with the End in mind

  3.  Put first things first

  4.  Think WIN/WIN

  5.  Seek first to understand, then to be understood

  6.  Synergize

  7.  Sharpen the Saw

Put a space between the stimuli and reaction.

Only you get to decide how you are going to feel today or if you are going to have a good day or a bad day.  It’s all in perspective and how you perceive every event in your life.

Realize that the entire Universe does not revolve around you.

Try to ‘see’ things from another’s perspective with empathic listening.

Never be afraid to admit you’re wrong.

No one on this planet is perfect, including you.  So be kind to yourself and to others.

Make deposits to emotional bank accounts before making withdraws.

To be trusted, you must be trustworthy and you must trust.  Practice loyalty in the absence.
